At Your Doorstep

Mark 1:32-34

"That evening, at sunset, they brought to him all who were sick or possessed with demons. And the whole city was gathered around the door. And he cured many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons;"

Heal me,

I'm at your doorstep.

There are many others with me,

and we all have different ailments.

But even though what keeps me

from being healthy is different

from what keeps others from

being healthy,

one thing is true for all of us:

We need the healing only Jesus can give.

We all need you.

We all need your touch.

Healing of the body seems much easier

than healing of the soul.

My body bows willingly to your

command to heal:

You tell lame legs to walk,

and they walk.

You tell blind eyes to see,

and they see.

You tell deaf ears to hear,

and they hear!

But my sinful self will fight your

command to be healed.

Kill my selfishness and sinfulness!

May I never fight for it again!

Let my pride be starved.

Let it not be fed.

Let it not be given in to.

It may hurt, but its burden

is too much to bear.

It’s friends are fear and anger

and jealousy.

I hate them.

Kill them, too.

I will not feed them.

No more feeding fear.

No more feeding doubt.

No more feeding insecurity.

I am done.

I will focus on feeding LIFE…LOVE.

I will find confidence as I feed

JOY, GRACE, SURRENDER.

And then I will live the healed life.
